We're delighted to announce that Tracey Bailey from Bricklehampton Hall Nursing Home is our first Glad To Care Winner of 2026!

Tracey was nominated by her Line Manager, Max Fearnehough, in recognition of her outstanding commitment to the residents she supports every day. As the winner, Tracey has received a £100 Love2shop Voucher as a thank you for the exceptional care and compassion she brings to her role.

Max's nomination perfectly captures why Tracey is such a deserving winner:

"Tracey consistently demonstrates an outstanding commitment to the residents within the home and is always willing to help in any way she can. She takes great pride in ensuring that residents have everything they need and regularly goes above and beyond to enhance their wellbeing and happiness. Seeing residents smile is clearly one of her greatest motivations.

No matter the time of day, Tracey maintains a positive attitude and a welcoming smile. Her consistent professionalism, kindness, and willingness to go the extra mile make a significant difference to the lives of the residents and serve as an excellent example to her colleagues.

What makes Tracey particularly special is that she views this level of care and dedication simply as part of her role. She does not always recognise how much she stands out from those who merely fulfil the basic requirements of the job. Her genuine compassion, attention to detail, and person-centred approach are evident in everything she does."

Receiving the award came as a complete surprise to Tracey, who was humbled to be recognised by her colleagues.

Reflecting on her win, Tracey said:

"When Max told me she had nominated me for the Glad to Care Awards, my first thought was, 'Why me?' There are so many kind, caring and supportive people working here who do amazing things every day. I couldn't imagine why she felt I deserved to be nominated.

Then she said, 'Congratulations, Tracey – you've won!' and I was completely shocked. I was genuinely touched that someone would put my name forward in the first place. You tend to think awards are for other people – people who have done something extraordinary, or have been incredibly brave.

I've been at Bricklehampton Hall for over 30 years, and it's such a huge part of my life. The residents aren't just people I care for; they're like an extended family. I love coming to work each day and helping to make their home a happy place. Seeing them smile, knowing they're comfortable, and doing whatever I can to brighten their day is what matters most to me.

Winning this award means so much because it came from someone who felt that the care and support I give has made a difference. That is incredibly humbling, and I'm truly grateful."
