We're delighted to announce that Myrna Thompson from Clarendon Group is our second Glad To Care Winner of 2026!
Myrna was nominated by Rachel Brown, Operations Director, in recognition of her professionalism, leadership and unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional care. As the winner, Myrna has received a £100 Love2shop Voucher to celebrate her outstanding contribution.
Rachel's nomination highlights why Myrna is such a deserving winner:
"A resident had a nasty fall where she fell straight backwards and hit her head with bleeding from her ear. Myrna reacted professionally and extremely calm under pressure. She took the appropriate action in first aid and ensured emergency services were called. Myrna followed the home's protocol and ensured family were informed, while continuing to lead the team and ensuring everyone was cared for.
Myrna's dedication and commitment to our home is incredible. She leads by example at all times and ensures emergency situations are handled with care, calm and professionalism without panic. Myrna's commitment to our home over many years has not gone unnoticed, but she deserves to be recognised for her work ethic and her contribution to care over these years."
Reflecting on receiving the award, Myrna said:
"I would like to express my sincere thanks for receiving the Pollard's Promise Award and the £100 voucher. I am truly grateful for this recognition.
I take great pride in my work and am passionate about providing the highest standards of care. I always strive to put our residents at the heart of everything I do and to ensure they receive compassionate, person-centred support that enhances their quality of life.
It is a privilege to work alongside such dedicated colleagues, and I am honoured that my contribution has been recognised. Thank you once again for this award and for your continued support."
Congratulations, Myrna, on becoming our second Glad To Care Winner of 2026. Your calm leadership, professionalism and dedication to providing outstanding care make a real difference to the lives of your residents and colleagues every day.
We'd also like to thank Rachel Brown for recognising Myrna's incredible contribution. Celebrating those who go above and beyond to deliver exceptional care is what the Glad To Care Awards are all about. 💜
