A Bouquet for Joy

At Pollard’s Promises, we’re proud to celebrate people of all ages and walks of life who bring joy and inspiration to those around them. Our latest recipient is someone truly special: Joy, a beloved resident at Alfriston Court Care Home, who just turned 103 years young on 13th June!

Joy was nominated by Anita Message, the home’s Registered Manager, who shared with us just how special she is. Despite experiencing hearing loss, Joy is full of life and conversation with her hearing aids in place, always ready with a smile and a kind word.

One of Joy’s greatest pleasures is being out in nature. Staff love taking her on afternoon minibus trips to enjoy vibrant gardens and beautiful floral displays—something that brings her visible happiness and lights up her day. So, when it came time to choose a Pollard’s Promises gift, the request was simple and heartfelt: a bright bouquet of flowers that she could enjoy up close.

We were absolutely delighted to make that happen.

“Thank you so very much for the beautiful bright bouquet that you kindly sent to our 103-year-old resident on her birthday! Joy was thrilled to receive them. We gave her a day to remember and she was smiling so much. Please accept our grateful thanks for helping make her special day even more memorable!” – Alfriston Court Care Home

What an honour to be part of such a milestone celebration. Thank you, Joy, for your warmth and your years of wisdom. Here’s to more sunshine, smiles, and flowers in the days ahead.
