At 88 years old, Gillian is proof that kindness never retires. Over the past year, since joining Hollywynd Rest Home, she has become a ray of sunshine for both residents and staff. Known for her endless generosity, Gillian has hand-knitted and crocheted a range of beautiful gifts, from pillows and scarves to cosy blankets, sharing comfort and care one stitch at a time.
Her acts of kindness don’t stop there. Gillian is now turning her talents toward creating blankets for premature babies in hospital, an extraordinary gesture from a truly selfless individual.
To thank her for everything she gives to others, Emma Armstrong, Manager at Hollywynd, nominated Gillian for a Pollard’s Promises wish. We were honoured to grant her an Afternoon Tea Hamper, hand-delivered by our very own Lauryl Rencontre, our Events and Wish Coordinator.
🧸 "She is so lovely and sweet and LOVED Pollard the bear!" – Lauryl
Gillian was not only touched by the visit and her hamper, but, in true Gillian fashion, she gave Lauryl a crocheted pillow as a thank you gift!
Gillian's kindness is a beautiful reminder that giving from the heart never goes unnoticed. We’re so proud to shine a light on her thoughtfulness and spirit.
