We were delighted to grant a special wish for Arleta from The Lindens Care Home, who was nominated by Maria, Activities Coordinator, in recognition of her compassion, dedication and the incredible impact she has made over the past 13 years.

Arleta's wish was for a Hair Care and Skin Care Hamper, and we were honoured to make it happen as a small thank you for everything she does for residents, their families and her colleagues.

Maria nominated Arleta and shared why she is so deserving of this recognition:

'She is an exceptional carer whose compassion and sincere character has made such an impact on everyone at The Lindens. When Arleta first joined our team, she had recently moved to the UK from Poland. She came with determination to provide the best possible care for our residents and to build relationships with them and her colleagues. So, she carried a notebook with her wherever she went, to make notes and improve her English. She was resilient and willing to learn from the beginning and she still holds these qualities 13 years later.

Over the years, Arleta has grown into a highly respected senior member of our team. She has built genuine relationships with residents, their loved ones, and her colleagues. Families regularly comment on her kindness, patience, and mention that they feel comfort knowing their relatives are in her care. Not only this, but families often comment on the support they receive from Arleta.

As our Dignity Champion, Arleta embodies the values that we as a team strive to uphold every day. She leads by example and educates her colleagues on the pillars of dignity. She has shined a light on dignity in our home through special events such as a digni-tea party and dignity dance, aswell as creating a beautiful dignity tree. Arleta is a wonderful woman, who inspires us here. That’s why I believe she’s deserving of this recognition.'

It is a privilege to recognise individuals whose kindness, resilience and commitment make such a meaningful difference to the lives of others.

After receiving her wish, Arleta shared this heartfelt message:

'Hi, My name is Arleta, I’m one of the staff members at The Lindens. I was speechless then and I’m speechless now but I want to let you all know how grateful I am for being nominated. I am truly touched and honoured that you thought of me for this. I’m glad you liked my story. P.S it wasn’t easy but it was definitely worth it - I realise that every day.'
