At Pollard’s Promises, we’re proud to highlight teams who demonstrate exceptional dedication in the face of challenge. One such team is from Ravenscroft Rest Home, nominated by Director Susan Dewhurst, for their strength and unwavering commitment throughout one of the most challenging times in care: the COVID-19 pandemic.

Like many care homes, Ravenscroft Rest Home faced uncertainty and loss during the height of COVID. Long-term staff were forced to leave, and the team dynamic changed almost overnight. But those who remained stepped up in remarkable ways.

“The remaining team were outstanding in their commitment and dedication,” said Susan. “They were always ready for the next challenge and were determined to keep everyone safe and well.”

To recognise their incredible efforts, we were honoured to grant their wish: a chocolate and sweets hamper, delivered to lift spirits and share a small moment of joy during their shifts.

The team shared this message after receiving their gift:

“The staff at Ravenscroft Rest Home would like to thank you for the amazing chocolate hamper. They appreciate having recognition for their hard work. They have been enjoying the snacks while on shift to keep them going. The team is grateful for your generosity. We have the little teddy sat in our main office.”
