Today, we’re shining the spotlight on Miglena Draganova, a devoted care assistant at Goldcrest Healthcare, who embodies the true spirit of care through both her actions and her heart.

Nominated by her manager, Upasna, Miglena is recognised not just for her strong work ethic, but for the deep compassion and empathy she brings into every aspect of her role. She is known among her peers and residents alike as someone who consistently goes above and beyond.

One particularly moving example of Miglena’s dedication involved a resident with advanced dementia who had become withdrawn and agitated. While many struggled to connect with him, Miglena took a different approach: she researched and learned songs from his youth, softly singing them during care routines. Her thoughtful gesture not only calmed him but also sparked moments of recognition and joy.

This method proved so effective that it was later adopted as a care strategy across the unit, improving outcomes for others and showcasing how one person’s kindness can ripple across an entire team.

Beyond the care she provides to residents, Miglena is also a pillar of support for her colleagues. She mentors new staff, fosters a welcoming team environment, and leads by example with professionalism, patience, and warmth.
