A treat hamper for the lovely Bev!

Nominated by her daughter Amy, Bev is 74 years old and the devoted carer to her husband of 49 years, who is living with leukaemia and is often in and out of hospital. Despite the challenges this brings, Bev remains a constant source of love, care, and strength for her family.

Alongside caring for her husband, Bev works two afternoons a week in a charity shop, is actively involved in her church and local community, and still finds time to cook for her family and support others. She never complains and is always full of smiles, laughter, and kindness.

Family and friends describe Bev as an “angel” a reflection of her selfless nature and generous heart. Amy describes her mum as her biggest supporter, someone who lifts people up and lives by strong values.

We gifted Bev a treat hamper filled with her favourite things, cheese, chutney, crackers, Sauvignon Blanc, and chocolates, a small thank you for a woman who gives so much to everyone around her.

Here’s what Bev had to say ‘"I could hardly believe it when my beautiful hamper was delivered this afternoon. I was completely overwhelmed - it made me cry. I was so thrilled and touched beyond words.

My husband has been in poor health for many years. In addition to his leukemia, he has lived with dystonia for the past twelve years. He is unable to face forward and is permanently turned to the left, which causes him great pain in his neck. He also struggles with balance and has neuropathy in his feet as a result of chemotherapy.

When I read what Amy had written about me, I was deeply moved. I found myself crying again. I honestly thought, who is this person she is describing? Her words meant more to me than I can express.

I am so incredibly grateful to you for such a thoughtful and wonderful surprise. Our whole family will enjoy it together, and it has truly lifted our spirits.

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart and may you all be blessed."

Amy also shared 'Thank you so so much for the amazing hamper! We all cried, with happiness. My mom also wanted to say that she is in awe of my father because he is so brave, he never complains and he bares his pain so stoically. My mom says it has been a privilege being married to such a lovely man for 49 years. Thanks again x'

At Pollard’s Promises, we are proud to recognise Bev and the extraordinary love she shares every day. 💜
