Celebrating the St Barnabas Team at Hightown HA!

We are delighted to shine a spotlight on the amazing St Barnabas team from Hightown Housing Association, nominated by Laura Duff, Head of Care and Supported Housing.

Laura shared the incredible transformation the team has achieved. Previously a little fractured and muddling through, the arrival of their new manager, Lisa, in September has seen them go from strength to strength. With renewed leadership, the team is now delivering outstanding support to the adults with learning disabilities in their care.

Thanks to their hard work and passion:
  • Individuals who previously declined support are now engaging positively.
  • One gentleman is being supported to reconnect with his daughter.
  • Another individual has developed new skills, such as cooking meals from scratch.
  • Behaviours of concern have declined significantly, allowing people to get back to enjoying life — including activities like going to the gym again!

Their resilience, compassion, and daily commitment to making a difference truly stood out. Laura summed it up perfectly:

"They just have so much resilience and passion and really are making a difference every single day to the adults with a learning disability they support. They are awesome."

To say thank you, the St Barnabas team received a sweets and chocolate bouquet, and it was wonderful to hear how much it meant:

"I delivered the goodies today. The team were thrilled. Thank you!"

Congratulations again to the St Barnabas team — you are a shining example of what dedication, teamwork, and the right leadership can achieve. 🌟
