We are proud to celebrate the St Winefride’s Team!
St Winefride’s is a small residential home specialising in dementia care, and what makes it truly special is the family atmosphere that the staff create every day. There are no uniforms or name badges; instead, the home feels warm, welcoming, and personal. Families and visitors regularly comment that it doesn’t feel like a care home at all, it feels like home.
They have supported three married couples to continue living together, allowing them to remain side by side after many years of marriage. This compassionate approach reflects the home’s ethos.
Life at St Winefride’s is full of joy and celebration. Every two months, the home hosts an all-day party where relatives are invited to join in the fun. Staff play an active role in planning these events and are always happy to “find an excuse for a party.” Entertainers visit three times a week, and the team enthusiastically joins in to ensure residents experience laughter, music, and connection.
The staff consistently go the extra mile. Recently, they have been taking residents out in small groups to a local garden centre to enjoy the Christmas decorations, buy small gifts, and relax over coffee and cake. These thoughtful outings create cherished moments and help residents stay connected to the wider community.
The impact of this exceptional care is reflected in St Winefride’s outstanding feedback. Just a year ago, the home held a carehome.co.uk score of 8.4 out of 10. Today, that score stands at an impressive 9.8, a true testament to the dedication and compassion of Team Wini.
With a team of 30 staff members, Annie couldn’t be prouder. Their nomination and their wish for a well-deserved treat hamper is a heartfelt thank-you for the love, care, and commitment they show every single day.
Well done to the St Winefride’s Residential Home Team, you truly make a difference.
