šŸ½ļø Going Above and Beyond in the Kitchen: Celebrating the Culinary Stars at Alfriston Care

At Alfriston Care Ltd, it’s not just the care that’s exceptional, it’s also the food, and more importantly, the team behind it.

Pollard’s Promises recently had the honour of recognising the outstanding work of the kitchen staff at Alfriston:

šŸ‘Øā€šŸ³ Glyn Hards,

šŸ‘Øā€šŸ³ Adam Hards,

šŸ‘Øā€šŸ³ Joe Barnard, and

šŸ‘©ā€šŸ³ Karen Hills

A tight-knit team that feels more like family, quite literally. Glyn and Adam are twins who have served the home for over a decade, and Joe, their half-brother, is the Kitchen Assistant. Together with Karen, they form a team that’s as skilled as they are passionate.

The nomination came from Registered Manager Anita Message, who shared a heartfelt appreciation for the team’s dedication to delivering nutritious, beautifully presented meals tailored to residents’ individual needs, from gluten-free and diabetic diets to carefully piped purees replicating full meals for those on modified diets.

Every dish is made with care and creativity, daily homemade cakes and soups warm both stomachs and hearts, while thoughtful touches like fresh flowers and laid tables make every mealtime a moment of comfort and dignity.

To say thank you, Lauryl and Jack from Pollard’s Promises travelled to Alfriston in person to present the team with an extra-large food and drink hamper, a small gesture for the huge difference they make every single day.

ā€œThe kitchen team’s work goes far beyond cooking , it enhances the lives of every resident they serve. Their pride, care and teamwork are truly inspiring,ā€ said Lauryl.
ā€œIt was so rewarding to meet them face-to-face and see how valued they are by the whole home,ā€ added Jack.

The team was touched by the visit and delighted with their well-deserved treats. We couldn’t be prouder to shine a spotlight on the unsung heroes of Alfriston Care — proof that exceptional care often starts in the kitchen.
