The team at New Tyne Care Home have spent years supporting residents living with dementia, providing consistent, person-centred care to some of the most vulnerable people in our community.

With the recent decision by the council to close the home, it’s an understandably difficult time for everyone involved. For the 30 current members of staff, this isn’t just a change of workplace, it’s the end of something many of them have been part of for decades.

Some team members have worked at New Tyne for 20, 30, even 40 years. That’s an extraordinary level of commitment. Over that time, they’ve supported countless residents and families, often during emotional and challenging periods. Their experience, dedication and steady presence have made a real difference.

Simon and Dawn wanted to nominate the whole team as a way of saying thank you. Their wish is simple, a large snacks hamper for everyone to share. A small gesture to recognise years of service, teamwork and professionalism.
