Peggy and a Life Devoted to Caring

At Pollard’s Promises, we love to recognise the quiet heroes in care and this week, we had the privilege of delivering a special wish to a truly remarkable woman: Peggy, nominated by Nicky Cook from A1 Homecare.

Peggy has spent her entire life caring for others. She devoted her career to the care sector, working selflessly for A1 Homecare until the age of 88, a milestone that speaks volumes about her strength, dedication, and heart. Her retirement only came recently due to ill health, and even now, she remains a determined and inspirational figure to all who know her.

To acknowledge her lifetime of compassion and commitment, we delivered a heartfelt Pollard’s Promise: a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolates.

Her response was humbling. Peggy expressed her gratitude and shared how important it is to shine a light on the good work carers do. Her son followed up with a touching note saying the gift had really “perked her up.” A small gesture, but one that meant the world.

“Thank you for coming over to see her and for bringing the flowers and chocolates. Please pass on her thanks to the company involved too.”

Peggy’s story reminds us that dedication to others can last a lifetime and those who give so much, deserve a little kindness in return.
