At Pollard’s Promises, we are constantly inspired by the dedication, kindness, and selflessness shown by carers across the country. Today, we are honoured to shine a light on Ann Woodall, a truly extraordinary lady who was nominated by her grand daughter, Beth.
Beth describes her Nan as nothing less than a “walking angel”. At 70 years young, Ann has devoted her life to caring for others. She lovingly supported her father and her husband in their later years, and now she provides daily care for Beth, unpaid, and without ever expecting anything in return.
Ann has faced life’s challenges with positivity and grace, never complaining, and always giving her time, energy, and love to those who need it most. Despite the responsibilities she carries, she continues to look after her own health and wellbeing. From her gluten-free diet and regular swimming sessions to enjoying her indoor trampoline, Ann radiates strength, resilience, and joy.
Her family’s admiration shines through: “She’s saved me and still saves me every single day,” Beth told us. “Even though my Nan is 70, she is truly glowing. She deserves the world.”
To recognise all that Ann does, Pollard’s Promises was delighted to grant her wish of a £50 Aldi voucher. This small token of appreciation is a way of saying thank you to someone who gives so much but rarely receives in return.
Ann’s response was as humble and heartfelt as you might expect:
“My Nan really appreciates it and she is very grateful! I am so glad she gets a little gesture because she deserves the world. Thank you so much for giving recognition to people who are not always noticed.”
Ann, you are a true inspiration, and it’s an honour for us to celebrate your love and dedication. 💙
