Sweets and Cakes Hamper for Chanika!

At Pollards Promises, we are proud to celebrate the people who make a lasting difference through their kindness, dedication and commitment to others. One of those people is Chanika from Woodlands Care Home in Aberdeen.

Nominated by Home Manager Lesley, Chanika was recognised for the incredible work she does to support both residents and colleagues. A quiet, caring individual, she has taken it upon herself to further her knowledge in oral care, completing her SCQF qualification and now studying an advanced course focused on supporting residents at the end stages of life. Alongside this, she trains new recruits, carries out assessments for new residents, contributes to service audits and care plans, and plays a vital role in supporting residents and their families during end-of-life care. Her efforts have helped residents maintain their independence, ensured high standards of oral care across the home, and encouraged families to become active partners in caring for their loved ones.

As a small thank you for her hard work and compassion, we were delighted to surprise Chanika with a sweets and cake hamper.

Speaking about the moment, Lesley said:

"She was so surprised and so incredibly grateful. It was lovely to have the opportunity to recognise her hard work and commitment to our residents."

It is clear that Chanika's dedication goes far beyond her day-to-day responsibilities. Her willingness to take on additional duties and continually develop her skills has had a meaningful impact on the lives of residents, families and colleagues alike.

Congratulations, Chanika, and thank you for everything you do. 💜
